Role Overview

This is a pivotal position within the Exercise Physiology Department, requiring collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based exercise services to patients with neurological and complex medical conditions.

The role involves safely managing an individual caseload of mixed inpatient rehabilitation wards, providing one-on-one and group interventions, as well as offering clinical supervision to exercise physiology students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and delivering evidence-based aquatic therapy services to patients on inpatient rehabilitation wards
  • Providing clinical supervision to exercise physiology students
  • Delivering evidence-based care to patients with stroke, acquired brain injury, amputation, post liver transplant, critical illness survivors, orthopaedic injury, and general deconditioning
About You

We seek an experienced Exercise Physiologist with excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to excellence in patient care, and a keen interest in developing their skillset.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current accreditation with the Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA)
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience
  • Experience in the exercise management of patients with neurological injuries, including stroke, non-traumatic spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury, functional neurological disorder, and patients with behaviours of concern
  • Experience in the exercise management of patients with a wider variety of health conditions, including post-amputation, pre/post organ transplant, orthopaedic conditions, and chronic health conditions
  • Strong understanding and experience in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
