About This Role

As a key member of our team at Freeport-McMoRan, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our asset base. This involves providing strategic oversight and driving consistency in the Maintenance and Reliability Process across the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and actively engage in developing and implementing solutions for complex equipment problems.
  • Develop, update, share, and support the implementation of Maintenance and Reliability standards across the company.
  • Work closely with site maintenance departments to share safety improvements, best practices, and drive reliability-centered maintenance.
  • Provide mentorship to Processing Managers and Superintendents to support their development and ensure consistency in our Maintenance and Reliability process and standards.
  • Support sites with technical expertise during complex diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Conduct site and departmental assessments to identify opportunities for improvement and develop system-level solutions.
  • Review and update our Maintenance Standards to capture improvements and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain productive partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers to drive component enhancements and equipment improvements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and eleven years of related technical or engineering experience, including supervisory or lead experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and seven years of related technical or engineering experience, including supervisory or lead experience; OR
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related field and five years of related technical or engineering experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
  • Extensive experience on Health and Safety management systems and standards for the Mining Industry.
  • Solid knowledge of Cu Processing facilities and flowsheets with a focus on Smelter and Refinery facilities.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of maintenance execution, including preventive work, component replacement, condition monitoring, and troubleshooting of Smelting and Refinery assets.
  • Extensive experience of successfully leading Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Extensive experience managing maintenance and reliability organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of Asset Life Cycle management, including financial and supply aspects.
  • Strong knowledge of Production, Asset Performance, and Work Management metrics.
  • Very strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Very strong presentation and communication skills to provide clear and concise recommendations to all levels of the organization.
  • Training in Health and Safety Fatal Risk Management process and systems.
  • Training in Maintenance Procedures for Smelting and Refinery equipment.
  • Training in Root Cause Failure analysis methodologies.
  • Experience in complex and large-scale RCFAs and FMEAs.
  • Experience in process mapping, modeling, and performance measurement.
  • Experience in SAP Maintenance modules.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration, ultrasonic, and infrared analysis.
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis.
  • Skilled in the development of Asset Performance Metrics.
  • Skilled with software tools (SAP, Business Objects, MS Project).
  • Ability to learn and adopt new technologies.
  • Ability to travel both internationally to our operations abroad and domestically within the U.S.
  • Ability to travel at least 30% of the work schedule for regular site support functions.
