Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Project Director to oversee major construction projects with a portfolio totaling approximately $150 million annually. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site management and a proven ability to initiate, coordinate, and deliver large, complex capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, consultants, and colleagues to monitor all aspects of construction, including program, design, specifications, risk management, and budget.
  • Develop innovative solutions for delivering construction projects.
  • Manage documentation for capital building projects and liaise with external consultants and contractors.
  • Engage with local councils and communities to foster productive relationships.
  • Contribute to strategies that enhance shared responsibilities within the organisation.
  • Ensure a smooth transition of new assets for ongoing maintenance with the Asset Maintenance team.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and recommend improvements based on lessons learned.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on all project aspects in construction.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten years of experience in a Senior site based management role and ten years as a Site Manager on projects up to $100 million.
  • Proven ability to initiate, coordinate, and deliver large, complex capital projects.
  • Experience in leading site teams in dynamic project environments.
  • Expertise in assessing and providing technical advice on construction, safety, and quality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., Aconex).
  • Strong knowledge of relevant construction legislative requirements.
  • Commitment to uphold the ethos and values of the organisation.
