Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Chief Accounting Officer to join our team at Terminal Operations. This role will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of accounting data, providing timely financial reports to management, and supporting the finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly terminal financial reports, including variance analysis, and provide management with relevant information as required.
  • Accounting Support: Provide backup to the Accounting Manager and Finance Managers, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Coding and Reconciliation: Review coding of monthly payroll, calculate employee provisions, reconcile all general ledger accounts, and resolve any unreconciled items.
  • Inventory Management: Process reports and reconcile inventory to the general ledger.
  • Intercompany Reconciliation: Reconcile all intercompany accounts.
  • Accounts Payable Support: Assist with invoice codes, recharges, and journals.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with the preparation of annual budget and quarterly reforecasts.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare, reconcile, and consolidate monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS) for group companies, ensuring timely returns to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum three years' experience in a similar position.
  • Qualifications: Accounting degree or Professional accounting qualifications (CPA, CA) required.
  • Skills: Proven experience within a major business organisation, experience with computerised accounting systems, industry knowledge an advantage, and proficiency in Oracle Fusion.
  • Personal Qualities: Proven business acumen, management skills, sound knowledge of business/accounting & information systems, advanced communication skills, highly computer literate, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent attention to detail.

Salary: The estimated salary range for this role is AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
