Occupational Therapy Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Allied Health Team in Darwin. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our clients.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, person-centred services to individuals with a range of care needs, from short-term involvement to complex, long-term needs. This will involve:

  • Conducting assessments and providing reports, including Sensory Profiles, Functional Assessments, and Cognitive Functional Assessments;
  • Identifying Occupational Therapy goals with clients and their families or carers;
  • Developing and implementing Occupational Therapy intervention plans;
  • Providing support in various settings, including the home, community, schools, clinic, or via telehealth;
  • Developing individual resources and identifying useful strategies;
  • Providing training for parents, carers, and/or support workers;
  • Attending Care Team Meetings and providing Occupational Therapy input.

Our Occupational Therapists have access to a range of assessment tools, including the Child and Adult/Adolescent Sensory Profile and WHODAS 2.0.

This position is suitable for experienced practitioners as well as recent graduates, with opportunities for caseload tailoring, supervision, and training.

While our office base is in Darwin, we also offer opportunities to work regionally and within remote Indigenous communities. The option to work from home for administration/report writing is available.

The Northern Territory offers a unique blend of tropical and desert landscapes, with world-leading national parks and diverse wildlife.

About You

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who possesses:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent and registration (or eligibility to register) with AHPRA;
  • Experience or interest in working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or experiences of trauma who have complex needs;
  • Experience or interest in comprehensive assessments of individuals' functional needs, sensory assessment and profiling, and holistic lifestyle assessment and associated goal setting;
  • Experience or interest in administration and interpretation of a variety of assessment tools.
