Role Overview

This role will spearhead the promotion of the City of Greater Geelong by leading digital and traditional marketing campaigns, managing website content, and supporting the Marketing team.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and analysing digital performance using analytics tools, providing insights and making data-driven adjustments to improve campaign effectiveness.
  • They will also manage and optimise website to enhance user experience and engagement while staying current with best practices in digital marketing.
  • Mentoring and guiding Marketing Officers on SEO and SEM best practices is a key aspect of this role, ensuring the team's growth and adherence to best practices in digital marketing.
  • The individual will support change initiatives and contribute to the business unit's culture to ensure it is inclusive, customer focused, results driven and accountable.
About You

To succeed in this role you will have a tertiary qualification in Marketing, PR, Advertising, Communications or a relevant field and/or significant senior leadership experience in Digital Marketing.

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and practices related to marketing and promotions is essential.
  • Demonstrated people skills to support, influence, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders are crucial.
  • Well-developed writing, presentation, and speaking skills are required to align with stakeholders and achieve support for task outcomes.
  • Effective problem solving and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build collaboration and partnerships are necessary.
  • Tactical marketing and communication skills, including influencing stakeholders to achieve support to deliver outcomes, are vital.
  • Demonstrated experience in the effective management of and application of brand(s) is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing digital platforms inclusive of social media accounts, website and direct customer marketing (such as EDMs) is highly valued.
