Treasury Trader Role

We are seeking a Treasury Trader to join our team in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's day-to-day currency positions arising from its money transfer and business payments products.

This role involves assisting with hedging client trade activity with foreign exchange bank counterparties within prescribed interest rate and currency risk limits. You will also be required to quote FX prices across multiple products, structure option contracts for the Sales team, and complete operational functions including FX option, spot, swap, and forward deal execution.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be involved in daily and ad hoc reporting activities, as well as managing variable working hours to meet trading market availability.


About the Job
  • Manage FX risk by hedging client trade activity with foreign exchange bank counterparties
  • Quote FX prices across multiple products and structure option contracts
  • Complete operational functions including FX option, spot, swap, and forward deal execution
  • Assist with daily and ad hoc reporting activities

Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets and foreign exchange instruments
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with diverse currency exposures
  • Strong analytical skillset with interest or experience in data management and entry-level coding
  • Programming knowledge would be an advantage - VBA, Python, SQL
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Aptitude to formulate suggestions to address complicated financial risk scenarios
