About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Materials Handling team to ensure effective and safe delivery of business and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and ensure the Materials Handling team deliver on business and production requirements in an effective and safe manner.
  • Be accountable for prioritising, planning and organising all aspects of all activities of the Materials Handling Team to ensure alignment and deliver upon the strategy and business commitments.
  • Provide Organisational, Cultural and Strategic Leadership as well as significant and demonstrable knowledge, experience, and industry expertise to deliver upon Origin's Purpose, guided by Origins Values and Leadership Code.
  • Manage the participative and cooperative relationship between contractors, internal BU's and functions and power station operations in order that plant safety and performance achieve maximum business opportunities and outcomes.
  • Develop and execute team and strategies in alignment with flexible operations and station transition to end of coal operations.
  • Actively manage and consult all Coal and Ash risk and activity to ensure the uninterrupted energy production and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and maintain team budgets and manage cost controls.
  • Manage industrial relations matters and be an agent of change for EPS Operations.
Requirements
  • Extensive management experience (10+ years) working in and possessing a sound knowledge of thermal power station or large industrial facility facilities management and/or asset maintenance, operations, safety and environmental systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Able to manage difficult personalities/situations to maintain positive relationships.
  • Develops effective working relationships across Origin.
  • Industrial Relations, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Highly developed understanding of the principles underlying the operation of the National Electricity Market and the electricity supply industry structure.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake long term strategic planning.
  • Professional qualifications at degree level in an engineering, science or management discipline.
