Pharmacy Technician Role in a Dynamic Hospital Setting

Slade Pharmacy, as part of Icon Group, is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Epworth Eastern Hospital Box Hill.
About the OpportunityWe are looking for a full-time Pharmacy Technician who will make a daily difference to the lives of people in the local community. As part of our innovative and multidisciplinary team, you will deliver exceptional pharmacy services for our client hospitals and their patients.
This role offers the chance to further diversify your career in pharmacy and be exposed to various multidisciplinary services, including hospital services. You will work closely with an experienced team to provide support to patients, carers, and hospital staff.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, dispense, and supply medications for hospital inpatients and outpatients.
- Assist in processing and maintaining imprest levels, and managing hospital ward stock.
- Reconcile and manage prescriptions and patient medication discharge profiles.
- Provide support to patients, carers, and hospital staff.
- Process PBS claims and assist in producing medication profiles to hospital patients on discharge.
- Complete administrative and record-keeping duties confidently.
- Assist with patient account enquiries.

- Proficiency in using FRED dispense or other pharmacy dispense software.
- Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- The ability to prioritize workload and work autonomously.
To be successful in this role, candidates must have:
- Previous experience dispensing medication in an Australian pharmacy (desirable).
- Previous experience working in an Australian hospital or community pharmacy (essential).
