Electrical Maintenance Technician

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing maintenance team at a leading manufacturing site. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing complex electrical systems, ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.

Job Description:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, including machinery and building infrastructure.
  • Attend to breakdowns, conducting fault diagnosis using PLC software and other diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot VSDs/VFDs and other automation components, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Complete scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, including inspections and testing of electrical distribution boards and low-voltage systems.
  • Carry out project work, shutdown maintenance, and electrical upgrades as directed by management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of maintenance logs, breakdown records, and work orders.
  • Conduct thermographic testing and monitor power factor correction systems to ensure energy efficiency.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and participate in site risk assessments, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Participate in on-call rosters and assist other trades when required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
  • Contribute to reliability improvements through root cause analysis and corrective actions, driving continuous improvement in our maintenance practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current unrestricted Australian Electrical Licence.
  • Minimum 3+ years of industrial electrical experience, with a strong background in automation and control systems.
  • Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with PLCs, VSDs, automation, and robotics, with a focus on system integration and optimization.
  • Forklift, boom lift, or EWP licence (desirable), with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
