About the Opportunity:

Ventia, a leading infrastructure services company, is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join their team in a key leadership role. The ideal candidate will have experience in contract negotiation and management, with a strong understanding of financial principles and analytical skills.

Job Summary:

The Procurement Specialist - Contract Negotiation will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, negotiation, and management of contracts and service level agreements with suppliers. This role requires a high level of business acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with Ventia's organisational standards.
  • Assist in negotiations with suppliers regarding terms and conditions, aiming for favourable outcomes for Ventia.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with contracts, developing strategies to mitigate exposure.
  • Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, enhancing collaboration and addressing contract-related issues proactively.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics to assess supplier performance and ensure compliance monitoring.
  • Provide training to team members on contract management best practices, enhancing overall effectiveness of the procurement team.
  • Conduct market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends and pricing benchmarks.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, such as business, law, or commercial.
  • Proven experience in contract management or procurement within a complex environment, managing supplier contracts and compliance.
  • Analytical individual with a strong understanding of financial principles, enabling effective cost management and analysis.
