About the Role:

Aurizon's South-East Queensland (SEQ) Coal division is expanding, and we are seeking a qualified Locomotive Driver to join our team at the new Rosewood depot. This newly acquired depot is in its final stages of construction and ready to welcome dedicated professional train drivers.

In this role, you will thrive in a dynamic environment where superior teamwork, flexibility, and a strong commitment to safety are essential. Your high level of safety awareness and exceptional customer service skills will play a key role in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting and yard operations.
  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
  • Apply 'best practice' train management techniques to ensure efficient and safe train operations.
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous performance improvement.
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's award and other industrial agreements relevant to the position of Locomotive Driver.
  • Provide excellent customer service.

About You:

  • Certificate IV in Rail Operations.
  • Experience in QLD Safeworking Systems (preferred).
  • West Moreton route competencies well regarded.
  • Current unrestricted Class C drivers' licence.
  • A strong commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work a 24/7 shift work roster including availability to work weekends.
