We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer to fill this critical role within our organisation. The successful candidate will have significant experience in commissioning substation projects and hold an Advanced Diploma of ESI Power Systems or an Electrical Engineering Degree.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and leading testing and commissioning activities for both brownfield and greenfield 22kV-500kV Substation projects. This will involve planning and executing outage activities with a focus on safety, tracking and reporting progress, and conducting protection & control relay testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and lead testing and commissioning activities for brownfield and greenfield substation projects
  • Plan and execute outage activities with a focus on safety
  • Track and report progress against the project commissioning schedule
  • Conduct protection & control relay testing
  • Perform IEC61850 system testing
  • Primary Plant testing & commissioning
  • Drawing, ITP and defect/RFI management
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience within the Australian transmission/distribution networks
  • A strong background in Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) testing and commissioning
  • Relevant training and authorisations in line with VESI standards (desirable)
  • Proficient in the operation of Doble and/or Omicron secondary injection test equipment and other primary plant test equipment
  • Experience with IEC61850 projects is desirable but not essential
