Mater Misericordiae Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Fellow in Ophthalmology to provide exceptional adult Ophthalmology services to patients at our South Brisbane campus. This is a full-time position on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional expertise and services within a tertiary setting, including outpatient clinics, operating theatre, clinical administration, and research time.
- Deliver medical services through participation in clinical duties at Fellow level and in accordance with Mater Health policies, practices, and values.
- Contribute to evidence-based practice, research, and quality improvement activities, including clinical audits, risk management, and research.
- Assist in the professional development of junior medical staff and the training of medical and allied health students.
- Participate in departmental meetings and undertake regular assessment and performance review.
- Role model professionalism, confidentiality, patient dignity, effective communication, and accurate record-keeping.
- Contribute to a positive organisational culture and role model appropriate behaviour.
- Work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, and/or be on-call as required.
- Comply with human resource management issues, including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity, and anti-discrimination.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- MBBS or equivalent level medical qualification recognised by the Medical Board of Australia.
- Current registration with/or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia through AHPRA as a medical practitioner.
- Documentary evidence of compliance, including certified copies of qualifications, current registration certificates, and relevant immunisations.
- Experience or training in a speciality or subspecialty of Ophthalmology, or equivalent.
