Job Title: Digital Preservation Coordinator
The National Museum of Australia is seeking a skilled professional to join the Collection Engagement Business Unit as a Digital Preservation Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to manage digital preservation systems, processes, and standards for the museum's digital cultural collections and assets.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the reliable operation of the Trusted Digital Repository (TDR) and provide administrative oversight, including resolving technical issues.
- Work with vendors and the IT team to investigate and analyze system and business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Supervise the Digital Preservation Technician and collaborate on planning, managing, and undertaking digital preservation activities, such as testing, documentation, and data analysis.
- Collaborate within Collection Engagement to ensure collection systems are managed, and data integrity is maintained, providing advice, support, and testing activities.
- Work across the museum to acquire, produce, document, preserve, and provide access to digital cultural collections and assets.
- Build sector relationships and conduct research to improve digital preservation standards and processes.
- Support skill development and knowledge sharing in preserving digital cultural objects.
- Assist with policy development, reporting, and higher-level tasks.
