Overview: The Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in enhancing and restoring patient health through the nursing process. This involves collaboration with patients, physicians, and a multidisciplinary team, while providing both physical and emotional support to patients and their families. The role also includes supervising assigned team members. This is a part-time position with flexible shift availability, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit strong organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in emergency situations (e.g., Code Blue).
  • Engage in effective communication with patients, families, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Monitor and document patient behavior and assess patient outcomes.
  • Operate medical equipment competently.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests within the established scope of practice.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely.

Qualifications:

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Diploma or Degree from an accredited College or University; BScN preferred.
  • Relevant specialized certifications and courses as required for the area of practice.
  • Current BCLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
  • PALS/ENCP certification.
  • Completion of TNCC/ATLS and CTAS courses.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias and Defibrillation.
  • 15 Lead ECG Interpretation Certification.
  • Critical Care Course is preferred.
  • CNA Emergency Nursing Certification is preferred.
  • Maternal Newborn Course is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience in an acute care environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Cerner software and related hardware is preferred.
  • Ability to perform with a high degree of physical and mental effort.

Compensation: As per ONA salary scale
