About the Role:We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Environmental Consultant to join our internationally recognised Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team based in Brisbane.
As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of project management, due diligence, EIA and approval services with a strong focus on the Resources sector and the Environmental, Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act.
The ideal candidate will have circa 15 years' experience in consulting, government or industry and enjoy undertaking project work while mentoring team members and developing client relationships throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities:Providing advice on best practice EIA, EPBC and management principles to clients and internal team members
Developing, facilitating and enhancing effective relationships with clients and internal team members, particularly across other technical disciplines
Leading and working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across various sectors
Assisting in the development and implementation of team business plans and strategies
Working closely with the team lead to drive team and company growth
Conducting thorough technical reviews and mentoring/development of junior staff
Delivering clear and precise, high-quality reports
Occasionally travelling to undertake field assessments and site familiarisation walk-overs
- A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in Environmental Impact Assessment and primary state and commonwealth approvals
- Strong experience in Mining/Resources sector
- A proven name in the resources sector and the ability to win work through business development and demonstrated client management expertise
- Demonstrated experience directing and managing multidisciplinary projects
- Demonstrated knowledge of state and Commonwealth environmental legislation and policies, standards and guidelines
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia
