We are seeking a highly skilled Sterilisation Technician to join our team at Northern Beaches Hospital. As a Sterilisation Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Thermal disinfection, functionality checks/inspection, packaging and sterilisation of all instrumentation for the theatres and other clinical areas
- Comply with AS/NZ standards, Infection Control policy, GENCA guidelines and other statutory requirements
- Operate, monitor, interpret and document all equipment reprocessing requirements
- Report and document all quality activities
- Ensure prioritisation of instrumentation and processes
- Maintain the SSD area and equipment in accordance with Standards
- Actively participate in the quality improvement initiatives and risk management activities
- Assist with management of general stock.
- Experience in Sterilisation processing within a Healthcare environment
- Sterilisation Service Certificate III
- Knowledge and understanding of ASNZS4187:2014
- Knowledge and experience in the use of electronic tracking system
- Track record of prioritising workload demands
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team as well as independently
- Demonstrated knowledge of manual handling principles and techniques and ability to perform manual handling activities
- Committed to the delivery of customer service in a health care setting
