About Us

KWILS is a specialist women's legal service providing trauma-informed and culturally safe legal support across the Big Rivers Region. Our mission is to promote social change and empowerment through advocacy, law reform, and community education.

The Role

This is a newly created senior leadership position, offering the chance to lead a small team of solicitors and provide high-quality legal advice, casework, and representation in complex matters.

  • You will supervise and mentor a team of solicitors, act as Principal Legal Officer when required, lead community outreach and deliver legal education, and build relationships with stakeholders across the legal, government, and community sectors.
  • You will also have the opportunity to participate in regular travel, including overnight stays, as part of your outreach work.

About You

We are seeking a values-driven leader who thrives in dynamic environments and supports their team to succeed. To be successful, you will have:

  • Admission as a solicitor in Australia + eligibility for an NT Practising Certificate;
  • 4+ years post-admission experience in relevant practice areas, preferably in DFSV, family law or child protection;
  • Leadership and mentoring experience within a legal practice; and skills in trauma-informed, culturally safe practice, ideally with Aboriginal communities.
