Job Description

We are seeking an experienced musician to join our team as a part-time saxophone and clarinet tutor.

The successful candidate will have a strong musical background, excellent teaching skills and the ability to work with students of all ages and skill levels.

As a tutor, you will be responsible for teaching both individual and group lessons, providing students with consistent and achievable practice material each week, and encouraging them to develop their technical and creative skills.

You will also be expected to participate in various roles outside of lessons, such as creating social media content, writing newsletters and blogs for parents, and engaging with the school community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching saxophone and clarinet lessons to students of all ages and skill levels
  • Providing students with consistent and achievable practice material each week
  • Encouraging students to develop their technical and creative skills through improvisation and composition
  • Participating in various roles outside of lessons, such as social media content creation and newsletter writing
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A minimum grade 6 level of expertise in saxophone or clarinet
  • Excellent teaching skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students
  • A valid Working with Children Check and ABN
  • Ability to teach and turn up on a consistent basis throughout a 10-week school term
