About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Groundwater Specialist to join our Water Resources Team. This exciting opportunity involves designing and executing fieldwork programs, including drilling supervision, geotechnical logging, soil testing and sampling, groundwater monitoring and sampling, and groundwater well installation and hydraulic testing.
Main Responsibilities
- Critical analysis and assessment of groundwater and geological related data;
- Geospatial and 3D analysis – including GIS and Leapfrog (3D modelling);
- Conceptual assessment of groundwater flow, fate and transport;
- Quantitative groundwater assessments of flow, fate and transport using analytical as well as 2D and 3D numerical modelling tools – SEEPW, HYDRUS, MODFLOW, GoldSim;
- Preparing informative and interpretive maps, tables, and figures;
- Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals; and
- Training: This position requires health and safety, first aid and other on-the-job training. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in geology/earth science/geochemistry/hydrology or engineering or related field of study (required)
- Post graduate MSc or similar in hydrogeology (preferred)
- At least 2 years of direct consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required). However, graduates can be considered if they possess post-graduate Hydrogeology qualifications.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. (required)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting deadlines and budgets, and traveling to client facilities as needed
