Job Title:

Nurse Specialist - Child Health


This role involves providing comprehensive care to children and families in a primary health setting. The nurse specialist will work with families to identify their strengths and vulnerabilities, and develop strategies to support their health and wellbeing.


The ideal candidate will have postgraduate qualifications in child health nursing and experience working in a similar role. They will also possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.


Key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing care plans, and providing education and support to families. The nurse specialist will also collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.

Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Postgraduate qualification in Child Health Nursing or near completion
  • Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with families within a primary health care setting
  • High level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others

Selection Criteria:
  • Understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Registered Nurse/Midwife in applying these principles
  • Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems
  • Current unrestricted NSW driver's licence
