About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Inspector to join our team in Western Australia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting audits and checks to ensure quality and compliance in our civil works and telecommunications networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out audits and checks to ensure quality and compliance in our civil works and telecommunications networks
  • Work closely with a team of multi-disciplined trade-based personnel to ensure successful project delivery
  • Operate from our Canning Vale office and travel across site locations in WA as required
  • Maintain close working relations with schedulers and project team to complete all TOW within Ventia's Visionstream time frame
  • Undertake field assessments, verifications, and provide input to development of alternative design options
  • Assess the fitness and safety of DUCTS and Pits
  • Ensure a high quality of data input integrity
  • Direct rodding and roping crews in an efficient manner to ensure productivity targets are achieved
  • Ensure all relevant data is captured within the Design Project folders and updated in via the scheduling group
  • Maintain regular communication with sub-contractors to ensure they regularly complete on site surveys
  • Report on the progress of works in VPL system and escalate any potential slippages to the Construction management before they arise
  • Manage all defects and complaints
  • Engage with stakeholders in relation to work order progress
  • Respond to field-based enquiries in relation to the survey
  • Undertake minor civil tasks as required

About You

  • Hold a solid understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and construction processes, with a preference for Telecommunication (Telstra/NBN) knowledge
  • Have a minimum of 3 years' experience conducting audits in construction, civil industry, or telecommunications
  • Be able to read and understand Telstra and NBN plans
  • Have a civil background, with previous experience working with Directional Drills, Ploughing, Open Trenching, ACM Removal, Pit, Pipe, and optic fibre installation
  • Be willing and flexible to travel across Western Australia on a FIFO/DIDO roster as well as local work when required
  • Be able to obtain a clear police clearance, or provide one that is less than 12 months validity

  • Confined spaces
  • Identify, locate, and protect underground services
  • WA Traffic Management
  • White Card
