Senior Electrical Engineer

As a Lead Electrical Engineer at Bechtel Corporation, you will work as part of an interdisciplinary engineering team to deliver medium to large EPC and EPCM projects. You will lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of electrical components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure uniquely complex requirements of a project's electrical engineering aspects are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Project Leadership: Plans and conducts independent electrical work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of electrical engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on a medium size project or assignment in support of a global business unit.
- Technical Input: Provides the technical input to meet procurement requirements.
- Bid Evaluations: Reviews and makes recommendations on the electrical engineering aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering.
- Design and Development: Leads the design, development, modification, and evaluation of components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission, and storage of electricity utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
- Review and Approval: Reviews and approves key calculations, licensing evaluations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders.
- Communication: Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper management.
- Client Coordination: Coordinates with client representatives to obtain their approval of electrical engineering aspects of the work.
- Conceptual Design: Develops conceptual designs for electrical engineering projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements.
- Project Support: Supports preparation of estimates, staffing needs, and schedules.
Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
Desired Skills:- Relevant work experience in FEED, proposal & detailed engineering preferably in an EPC/EPCM industry for large industrial plants, power projects, utilities, oil and gas plants.
- Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and computer applications within the Electrical engineering discipline.
- Experience in design, procurement, construction, commissioning, or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities or process plants is desirable.
- Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods and of precedents in the Electrical discipline and principles and practices of inter-related disciplines.
- Knowledge of related construction practices and the associated costs.
- Knowledge of application and coordination of 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools on a project.
- Knowledge and understanding of technical and cost issues related to selection of design features within the discipline.
