About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Paediatrician to join our team at Grampians Health Ballarat Children's ward. As a General Paediatrician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and managing a broad array of acute and chronic paediatric health issues, providing comprehensive and compassionate care to the children of Ballarat and surrounding regions.

The Grampians Health Ballarat Children's ward is a 20-bed Paediatric & Adolescent Unit and a 10-bed Level 4 Special Care Nursery. We also operate a Paediatric Day Medical Unit (embedded within the Paediatric Ward) and non-complex general, orthopaedic and ENT surgical services for children.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing high-quality, patient-centred care to children and their families
  • Working closely with paediatric registrars, HMOs, nursing and clinic staff to provide comprehensive care
  • Supporting education and training for junior staff members
  • Contributing to a positive organisational culture and role modelling professionalism

Requirements

  • Recognised qualifications as a General Paediatrician with experience in managing patients across acute, general, developmental & behavioural paediatric medicine
  • Current AHPRA registration and specialty recognition through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians
  • Recent acute inpatient experience at Senior Registrar or Consultant level
