Ellenbrook Arts is a not-for-profit organization that provides a range of arts and cultural programming for the enrichment of the community in Ellenbrook and the wider City of Swan region.

We aim to provide a high-quality annual program of exhibitions, cultural activities, and events that are inclusive, diverse, well planned, and delivered to professional standards.

Our organization operates from two dedicated facilities, the Ellenbrook Art Gallery, also known as 'HQ', and the Grapevine Community Arts Space. These venues function together as innovative, creative spaces for community cultural activity.

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is between $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.

Job Description

The Executive Director will be responsible for steering the organization towards its next chapter in the rapidly expanding community of Ellenbrook.

This person will oversee the artistic direction of the program, community development, management of venues and staff, and overall steering of the organization.

They will work closely with our key funding partner, the City of Swan, to forge partnerships and source funding to progress the impact of Ellenbrook Arts.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in the arts
  • Proven abilities with grant writing and fundraising
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with financial and budget management
  • Appropriate computer skills in Microsoft Office software
  • Experience in leadership and managing people
  • Experience working in a local government context, or knowledge of cultural planning and community consultation practices
  • Arts venue management experience, or equivalent venue management knowledge
  • Strategic or governance knowledge and experience working with boards and committees
  • Understanding of non-profit business management
  • Experience with marketing, writing for PR and advertising, and social media
