AARNet Proprietary Limited is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our Operations team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining AARNet's IP, MPLS, switched and optical networks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications networking and experience working with carrier-grade networks at a national or regional level. You will be expected to diagnose complex network faults, instigate solutions, and work with customers, other AARNet staff and third parties to identify the cause of faults and work towards a resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain AARNet's IP, MPLS, switched and optical networks
  • Diagnose complex network faults and instigate solutions
  • Work with customers, other AARNet staff and third parties to identify the cause of faults and work towards a resolution
  • Maintain the network with hardware and software updates and upgrades
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering/Telecommunications or a related field or relevant industry experience
  • At least 3 years' experience operating, managing and maintaining a carrier-grade network at a national or regional level
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of network switching, routing and transmission technologies
