About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Maritime Emissions and Environment section. As the Director of Maritime Decarbonisation, you will be responsible for providing advice on maritime decarbonisation initiatives and developing and implementing our domestic maritime decarbonisation program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on maritime decarbonisation initiatives and develop strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from shipping.
  • Lead the development and implementation of our domestic maritime decarbonisation program, including legislative reform and stakeholder engagement.
  • Work with state and territory governments, industry, and international partners to deliver green shipping initiatives and negotiate green shipping corridors.
  • Represent Australia at International Maritime Organization meetings and engage with senior leaders and stakeholders to advance our maritime decarbonisation agenda.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in maritime policy and regulation, with a strong understanding of international shipping and decarbonisation initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with senior leaders, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Ability to think strategically and evaluate complex information to make sound decisions.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading teams and managing projects.
