Job Title: Neurology Registrar

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Neurology Registrar to join our team at Canberra Health Services. As a Neurology Registrar, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the neurology service.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking care of patients under the supervision of neurologists in the department. Depending on the candidate's prior training and level of clinical experience in neurology, the non-core year could be structured for training and experience in one or more of the sub-speciality services offered by the neurology department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the neurology service by undertaking care of patients under the supervision of neurologists in the department.
  • Participate in regular educational events and clinical meetings.
  • Undertake research with a view to presenting the work at relevant scientific meetings.
  • Contribute to the out-of-hours on-call roster for neurology and stroke.
Requirements
  • Full Registration as a medical practitioner with AHPRA.
  • Postgraduate year four, or above, and previous experience or training in a hospital-based internal medicine training program and/or neurology training program.
  • Successful completion of the FRACP part 1 and part 2 examinations (or equivalent) and in the final years of advanced training for the fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) with the intention to obtain sub-speciality training/qualifications in neurology and/or stroke.
  • Availability for occasional weekend and after-hours work.
