About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our APAC Legal Team in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will provide legal support for our sales organization on complex technology and IP related transactions.

Your primary responsibilities will include advising senior management and cross-functional teams on legal risks and compliance obligations, negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements, and collaborating with business and legal colleagues on various matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise senior management and cross-functional teams on legal risks and compliance obligations.
  • Negotiate and draft complex commercial agreements, including license agreements, RFP/tender responses, and professional services agreements.
  • Collaborate with business and legal colleagues on various matters, including conducting training for the business on legal and compliance matters.
  • Provide support for other legal projects as needed.
Requirements
  • LLB, JD, or equivalent qualification from a top-tier law school in Australia, the US, the UK, or other highly recognized jurisdictions.
  • Minimum 8 years' legal experience, with experience at a top-tier international law firm or in-house experience with a global company.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with demonstrated experience advising clients on corporate, commercial, IP licensing, privacy, and regulatory matters.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple contract negotiations within required deadlines.
