About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our team as a Senior Lecturer in Architecture and Housing Design. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, delivery, and review of architectural design courses in housing design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply a well-defined teaching philosophy and a critically reflective teaching practice that inspires student learning in architecture, with a particular focus on housing design.
  • Conduct and lead classes, assess student learning achievements, and support students in both postgraduate and undergraduate courses.
  • Design and develop learning activities and resources, and assessment and feedback using a range of approaches and learning environments.
  • Lead the design/development of innovative approaches to teaching and learning in architecture and housing and participate in the exchange of these approaches with colleagues across the School, and the higher education sector more broadly.
  • Support learning progression with students to achieve high levels of student satisfaction, and high employability outcomes aligned with industry needs.
  • Manage course administration as Course Authority, including academic quality assurance.
Requirements
  • A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience in architecture and housing design.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Experience as a university-level teacher and/or convenor within architectural design with a focus on housing design.
  • Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development in architecture and housing.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
