Job Overview

As an HR Generalist, you will partner with business owners to support management of a 150+ strong workforce and lead HR operational requirements on a daily basis.

You will be responsible for coordinating end-to-end recruitment processes for trades and labour roles, including all contract preparation and onboarding. This will involve supporting frontline managers with performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and interpreting relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements (EAs), and Fair Work legislation.

Additionally, you will act as a first point of contact for resolving workplace grievances, facilitating mediation between employees and managers, and escalating complex matters when necessary.

Key responsibilities will also include maintaining accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with workplace legislation, and managing HR systems and documentation.

Furthermore, you will assist in managing return-to-work programs, promote mental health and wellbeing initiatives, and support safety compliance in coordination with HSE teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Ideal candidate will have 2-3 years in a similar position, with the ability to bring and implement proven processes.
  • Previous HR Generalist experience with a desire to work directly with the business owner is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of HR legislation is required.
  • Experience managing dismissals, supporting managers with performance management plans and discussions is necessary.
  • Experience with modern awards or EA/EBA's is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (every 3-4 months) including overnight stays to WA regional branches to support operations is required.
