Senior Control System Engineer Role

This position plays a critical role in our core engineering team, contributing to the design, development, and implementation of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Detailed control systems design and development.
  • Programming and integration of PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Equipment selection and procurement processes.
  • Bench testing and site commissioning for system validation.
  • Effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Willingness to perform site work as required.
  • Support to lead engineers and project managers.
  • Integration of designs with electrical and power engineering groups.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Control system design experience in minerals processing applications.
  • PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming in minerals processing environments.
  • Expertise with Schneider, Rockwell, and GE PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Proficiency in programming device interfaces using various communication protocols (such as Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
  • Network design and configuration for control systems.
  • Development of functional specifications from P&IDs and design documentation.
  • Technical writing skills for producing reports and documentation.
  • Software simulation, bench testing, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) procedures.
  • On-site integration and commissioning for green-fields and brown-fields operations.
  • Fault finding and diagnostic techniques for operational control systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams.
  • Consulting capacity and client interfacing skills.
  • Travel to remote sites as required.
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Positive attitude with a 'can-do' approach.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of business needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills – written and spoken.
