Solid Plasterer Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Protect non-plastering surfaces with appropriate materials to prevent damage and ensure a smooth finish.
  • Assess and repair previous plastering work when necessary to maintain high-quality results.
  • Install pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres, and other plaster fittings to enhance the aesthetic appeal of buildings.
  • Cover joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, then smooth them using wet brushes and sandpaper for a seamless finish.
  • Mix and apply coats of plaster, cement, and render to structures using trowels, levelling and smoothing coats to uniform thickness.
  • Plug and straighten corners, angles, wall, and ceiling surfaces to create a stable and even base for further decoration.
  • Develop decorative textures in finishing coats to add depth and visual interest to interior and exterior spaces.

Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience as a Solid Plasterer.
  • Certificate III in Solid Plastering or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills with customers and team members to build strong relationships and deliver excellent service.
  • Highly organized with a proactive approach to stay on top of multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Energetic and fun attitude to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
