Job Summary:

The Mechanical Fitter - Assembly and Service Expert will be responsible for ensuring that products are assembled in accordance with approved drawings and specifications. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that products are assembled in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • To perform servicing, certification or re-certification of equipment.
  • To perform quality control inspections and ensure that products meet the required standards.
  • To list out parts required for the job and to request parts from Stores or retrieve in a proactive manner.
  • To be familiar with the standard products of NOV Inc and be fully conversant with the assembly drawings and bills of material.
  • To be proficient in the use of all components, equipment, tools and techniques used in the workshop.
  • To correctly complete all service-related paperwork, including service reports, work orders and assembly data sheets.
  • To work in an orderly and tidy manner, keeping the service areas clean and tidy at all times.
  • To maintain good upkeep of the Company's equipment, reporting any losses or breakages to the person-in-charge/senior/manager and keeping it locked when not in use.
  • To be available for field service trips and commissioning of equipment, including local, offshore and overseas locations, when required.
  • To engage in any other activities requested by the person-in-charge/senior.
  • To refuel forklift at service station due to having truck license.

Quality Assurance:

  • To produce goods to a high standard of quality and in accordance with the relevant quality assurance procedures/departmental works instructions.
  • To ensure that the goods being produced are right first time and fit for the purpose intended prior to passing to the QC Department for inspection.
  • To recommend new ideas for improving the quality of products and services.
  • To actively complete continuous improvement cards.

Training:

  • To actively participate in training procedures to achieve the highest quality the employee is capable of.
  • To actively train workshop individuals/apprentices.

HS&E:

  • To take reasonable care of their safety.
  • To consider the safety of others who may be affected by their acts or emissions.
  • To work in accordance with information, training and instruction provided.
  • To refrain from intentionally misusing or recklessly interfering with anything that has been provided for health, safety and environmental reasons.
  • To report any hazardous defects in plant and equipment, or shortcomings in the existing safety controls, to a Supervisor without delay.
  • To not undertake any task for which authorization and/or training has not been given.
  • To report all accidents, incidents and hazardous situations to a Supervisor.
  • To stop work immediately if they have any safety concerns over the task and discuss with a Supervisor.
  • To actively complete continuous improvement cards.
