About the Job

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in turf management while contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of public spaces. As a Turf Maintenance Technician, you will work closely with our experienced team to provide maintenance services for sports fields, turf wickets, and garden beds.

You'll also be responsible for performing street cleaning tasks, including mowing, planting, mulching, fertilising, spraying herbicides/pesticides, and watering. This is a 12-month supported program, where you will receive continuous assistance and guidance to help you achieve your goals.

Responsibilities
  • Provide maintenance services for sports fields, turf wickets, and garden beds.
  • Perform street cleaning tasks, including mowing, planting, mulching, fertilising, spraying herbicides/pesticides, and watering.
  • Contribute professional input and expertise to improve the maintenance of council horticultural and greenkeeping assets.
  • Commit to our Workplace Health, Safety, and Environmental Systems, ensuring a safe and sustainable working environment.
Requirements
  • Willingness to complete a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management.
  • Qualifications in Horticulture, Greenkeeping, or a Parks & Gardens Trade Certificate (or its equivalent) are desirable.
  • Genuine interest in greenskeeping and a love for working in outdoor environments.
  • Physical ability to walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks as required by the role.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to represent our organisation professionally.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures with a willingness to learn and apply them effectively.
