Stroke Physician or Neurologist Vacancy
">- We are seeking a specialist stroke physician or neurologist to fill a vacancy at Toowoomba Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for healthcare professionals with a passion for delivering high-quality care in acute stroke management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily ward rounds in the stroke unit to attend to patients from the emergency department and rural facilities.
- Conducting stroke clinic sessions on Tuesdays, providing consultations and managing stroke-related cases.
- Emergency hyperacute stroke consultations to satellite hospitals in the district, requiring expertise in CT perfusion reading and thrombolysis, as well as assessing patients for clot retrieval.
- Providing support to registrars and interns, ensuring seamless delivery of care.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Specialist registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
- Experience in acute stroke management, including hyperacute stroke consultation, CT perfusion reading, thrombolysis, and clot retrieval.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment.
