Mortician Assistant

InvoCare is a leading provider of funeral services, operating over 300 locations across Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.

We are seeking a skilled Mortician to join our team in Ballina, supporting our funeral operations by providing best practice and service in the preparation and presentation of deceased individuals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Preparing and presenting deceased persons in accordance with InvoCare standards and special family requests.
• Assisting the Embalmer as needed.
• Completing mortuary registration and checking procedures accurately.
• Maintaining, cleaning, and sterilizing mortuary facilities and equipment.
• Performing coffin/casket trimming and engraving.
• Organizing time efficiently and monitoring daily workflow.
• Monitoring stock levels and preparing orders as directed.

About you:

• Ability to provide exceptional customer service at all levels.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Current unrestricted driver's license.
• Previous experience in mortuary and completion of the Mortuary Technician's course would be highly regarded.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• In a fit state of physical and psychological health to be able to adequately perform the role.
• Be at ease working with grieving families and the deceased.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow direction.
