Job Overview

The Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee is seeking independent members to provide assurance on Council operations.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Offer independent advice to assist oversight across compliance, risk management, fraud control, financial management and governance.
  2. Review and advise on the implementation of strategic plans, delivery programs and associated strategies, and service reviews.
  3. Support objective, independent judgement and constructive challenge of management practices and information.
Requirements
  • Familiarity with risk management, performance management, HR management, internal and external auditing, financial reporting, accounting, management control frameworks, internal financial controls, governance or business operations.
  • Able to form independent judgments and willing to challenge management practices and information.

This selected member will be required to devote time and effort as an independent committee member. Meetings are held quarterly, with a term of four years for members.
