Senior Biological Research Specialist

The Department of Primary Industries & Regions SA in Port Lincoln is seeking a talented SASQAP Scientific Officer to join their Office of the CE Division. As a key member of the team, you will provide vital program support to the South Australian Shellfish Quality Assurance Program (SASQAP) Program Leader under the values of the South Australian public sector.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for delivering the agency's priorities, including maintaining a phytoplankton and biotoxin monitoring program, and assisting in the microbiology laboratory. Additionally, you will contribute to delivering a range of laboratory testing and other technical duties required under the SASQAP program.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need a relevant degree in a Biological Science or equivalent. A current driver's license and willingness to drive are also essential. Out-of-hours work and interstate travel may be required. You must acknowledge your work, health, and safety obligations and our expectations when applying for a role. The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and participate in emergency preparedness, response, and recovery activities required by government agencies.
