Electronics Engineer

The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Engineer - SUAS to join our team in the Cargo Helicopter and Uncrewed Surveillance Program Office (CHUSPO).
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and analyze complex electrical and electronics engineering concepts to ensure compliance with legislative frameworks and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
- Deliver and manage specifications and resources in support of the Defence materiel capability lifecycle, ensuring that delivered materiel meets requirements and legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks.
- Investigate, analyze, and report on electrical-electronics engineering defects and requirements, providing recommendations and contributing to the implementation of actions.
- Develop and implement recommendations and advice to address issues, exercising initiative and judgment in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures.
- Provide detailed electronics-electrical engineering technical and professional advice in relation to complex work, contributing to strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development.
- Liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues, identifying, anticipating, and responding to stakeholders' needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
- Contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in UAS technology and applications.
The Cargo Helicopter and Uncrewed Surveillance Program Office (CHUSPO) delivers through-life support for the CH-47F Chinook and Army Aviation System Branch supported fleet of Uncrewed Aerial Systems. Our team is responsible for managing and delivering the acquisition of a range of UAS, including operator and aircrew training systems for Army.
Requirements- Perform critical and complex engineering activities and provide advice in the field of electronics-electrical engineering under broad direction.
- Apply electrical-electronics engineering knowledge and experience to identify issues and take these into account in planning, decision making, and priority setting.
- Work with broad supervision to identify issues and solve problems, tailoring communication style and language to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and ensure safety aspects of uncrewed aerial systems are considered and incorporated into electronics-electrical engineering activities.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, actively participating in teamwork.
- Manage workflows, resources, and work area plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes.
