Catholic School Educator Opportunity

Tradewind Australia is collaborating with a Catholic school in Sunbury to offer a full-time Religious Education plus one other method, teaching position for years 7-12. The school champions modern learning practices with a newly introduced vertical curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Planning and delivering engaging Religious Education lessons that align with the school's Catholic ethos and the religious education curriculum within the Victorian Curriculum.
  2. Fostering the spiritual growth and development of students through prayer, reflection, and exploration of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions.
  3. Assisting students in preparing for sacraments such as Confirmation, First Holy Communion, and Reconciliation.
  4. Teaching students about the Bible, including the Old and New Testaments, and guiding them in understanding the teachings of Jesus Christ and their relevance to contemporary life.
  5. Exploring ethical and moral issues from a Catholic perspective, including topics such as social justice, human rights, and the dignity of life.
  6. Engaging with the school community to promote collaboration and support for the school's religious education program.
  7. Providing pastoral support and guidance to students, including counselling, mentoring, and spiritual direction.
  8. Assessing students' understanding and application of Catholic teachings and values through various forms of assessment.

Requirements:

  1. Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
  2. Valid VIT registration.
  3. CECV Accreditation to teach in a Catholic School, or working towards it.
  4. Experience in RE from 7-11 advantageous, graduates welcome to apply.
  5. Understanding of the Vic Curriculum and experience teaching in Vic/Australia.
  6. Minimum 4-year bachelor's degree containing a teaching qualification.
  7. Ability to provide education-based references from upper management.
  8. Understanding and appreciation of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions.
