About the Position

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Data Governance expert to lead our organization's data governance function in a senior leadership role. As Manager of Data Governance, you will be responsible for establishing and implementing robust data governance policies, procedures, and guidelines that ensure high-quality, accurate, and secure data across the organization.

This is a senior management position that requires a strong understanding of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and tools. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement a data quality management framework, data risk management strategies, data privacy and ethics standards, and data literacy programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework to ensure data quality, integrity, security, and compliance across the organization.
  • Establish and administer divisional and executive data governance forums to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Risk, Operations, and Science teams to establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with other unit managers to assess and provide guidance on the governance of data products.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance data literacy throughout the organization.
  • Provide guidance on best data practices to other parts of the organization and work closely with the Data Architect to implement data governance tools.
  • Lead and manage the Governance team to achieve high standards of performance, accountability, collaboration, ethics, and integrity.
Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary degree and/or post-graduate qualifications in a related field.
  • A proven record of achievement in a senior management role leading a business unit/enterprise through change to achieve high performance and a positive organizational culture.
  • Leadership experience and a record of achievement in leading a data governance function.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and methodologies (DAMA/DCAM).
  • Prior experience with Azure, Databricks, and cloud-based data governance tools is an advantage.
