About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Policy Advisor to join our team at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. As a Policy Advisor, you will play a key role in providing high-quality policy advice to support the Prime Minister and Government in achieving their policy priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to inform policy advice and support the delivery of the Government's agenda.
  • Develop and lead the development of high-quality policy advice and briefings on health, aged care, and Commonwealth-state policy matters.
  • Support the decision-making of the Commonwealth Cabinet, National Cabinet, and parliamentary processes.
  • Drive a positive, innovative, and inclusive culture across the Department.
Requirements
  • Strategic judgement and experience in getting across complex issues quickly.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to draft agendas, minutes, papers, briefs, correspondence, and other written materials.
  • Demonstrated resilience and ability to deliver under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Eligibility
  • Australian citizenship is required.
  • Security clearance is required.
