This is an exciting opportunity to join our leadership team during a period of significant transformation as Prevention and Advocacy Lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Program Development:

  • Work with senior executives to set the vision and strategy for prevention and advocacy initiatives.

  • Develop and implement community-based programs, including education, accessible services, and community support.

  • Oversee Shelter Diversion initiatives to help keep pets in their homes and reduce surrenders.

Advocacy & Public Influence:

Lead advocacy efforts by working with policymakers to strengthen animal protection legislation.

Design and launch public awareness campaigns to highlight key issues.

Provide expert opinion and evidence-based research to inform policy decisions.

Reporting, Management & Operations:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of passionate employees and volunteers.

Establish and maintain a concise reporting suite to track results and monitor performance against KPIs.

Manage logistics of community events and identify grant and funding opportunities.

Essential Qualifications And Experience:

  • Proven success in prevention and advocacy: Demonstrated experience in leading prevention and advocacy initiatives in the animal welfare sector.
  • Tertiary qualification: A degree in communications, animal behavior, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work outside regular business hours and attend all sites regularly.
