Mental Health and Wellbeing Services, a leading provider of community-based services in the Northern Mallee Region, has an exciting opportunity for a Community Worker to join their FaPMI program. The successful candidate will work closely with consumers, children, and families to improve outcomes and reduce the impact of parental mental illness on family members.

The Role:

FaPMI Community Worker is responsible for supporting families where a parent experiences mental health challenges. This role contributes to the provision of a whole of family approach to service delivery, focusing on supporting children and young people up to 25 years old, including young carers.

About You:

  • Certificate IV in Community Development or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of young caring roles and the impact on carers' health and wellbeing
  • Understanding of mental health and other community service delivery systems
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • A commitment to family-inclusive practice and maximising opportunities and support for children, young people and families
  • Previous experience of working in the Mental Health Sector
