Fusion Technology LLC is seeking a highly skilled WIFI Network Architect to join our team in Albany, NY.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified candidate to work with our Enterprise System Engineering/Capacity Management for Telecommunications team. The selected individual will serve as a member of a team that provides enterprise-level recommendations for WiFi to senior leadership on enterprise communications. Provide Tier 4 escalation support when issues arise, deployment support for new technologies or architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement WiFi network architecture recommendations to support the growing needs of the VA
2. Test and validate the recommendations for enterprise compatibility in our state-of-the-art network design lab
3. Provide on-call escalation support in the event that an issue arises that cannot be rectified by the network operations team
4. Write technical papers on new technology uses in the VA and how it will help support the mission of the VA

Requirements:

1. 5+ years' experience in a large enterprise environment involving WiFi networking architecture and management
2. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
3. Cisco IOS XE command line is a must
4. Understanding of capacity management/planning techniques and processes
5. An in-depth knowledge/understanding of WiFi, Radio Signals, and wireless networking
6. In-depth understanding of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP is a must
7. Ability to interact with executive level Veterans Administrative staff
8. Desire to learn other technologies, such as WAN and LAN
9. Ability to work across multiple projects; provide written/verbal status updates on each project on a regular basis to the team lead, Program Manager, and customer
10. Knowledge and understanding of Network management and application analysis tools is required (NetScout, LiveAction, SolarWinds) and (Riverbed (formerly OpNet) preferred)
11. Used testing and diagnostic tools to assess and modify equipment
12. Design and validate the performance, quality, and reliability of the RF link
13. Devise and support radio frequencies (RF) link performance, reliability, and quality
14. Understanding of network packets captures
15. Experience with ticketing and change management (ServiceNow preferred)
16. Knowledge and experience with IPv6
17. Ability to obtain security clearance
18. Education / Experience: Master's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required. 10 years of relevant experience is required. 10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
19. PWS Specified Certifications: This position requires privileged system access. The applicant shall have six months to obtain an industry standard certification
20. Miscellaneous: Duties may require traveling, being on call periodically, and occasionally working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends)
21. Background Investigation: Must be able to pass a government Tier 4 High Background Investigation

Desired Qualifications:

1. Education / Experience: 5+ years' experience in a large enterprise environment involving network architecture and management
2. Strong understanding of Networking
3. Strong understanding of Cisco CLI (IOS/XE/NX-OS)
4. Certifications: CCNP or higher preferred, CWNP or ACMA
