About the Program

The 12-week program is designed to support and challenge individuals through a holistic approach to personal development and comprehensive gymnastics coaching. You will learn how to safely teach core gymnastics skills, develop written and verbal communication skills, and foster confidence in interacting with others. This enriching experience will help you build character, interpersonal skills, and resource streams for long-term growth.

Requirements

To succeed in this program, you must be open to new learning experiences, have a growth mindset, and be willing to accept feedback. Effective communication and cooperative working skills are essential, along with proactivity in seeking help when needed.

Your Commitment

To complete the program successfully, you are expected to:

  • Complete the YMCA pre-course workbook and online generic and Gymnastics-specific course prior to attending gym-based training.
  • Attend all scheduled lessons, coaching sessions, and workshops.
  • Read and understand the East Gymnastics/YMCA Coaches Handbook.
  • Complete assigned homework tasks and evaluation forms.
  • Understand that the program is entirely volunteer-based for the initial 12 weeks.
