Gaining specialisation in Theatres requires dedication, hard work, and a willingness to learn. Our Transition to Perioperative Nursing Scrub Scout (Instrument/Circulating) Program is tailored to meet the needs of ambitious Enrolled Nurses looking to advance their careers.

This 12-week program is carefully designed to provide a comprehensive education and training experience, equipping you with the necessary skills to succeed in this challenging yet rewarding role.

Throughout the program, you will work closely with highly experienced Theatre Clinical Facilitators who will guide you through the learning process and provide valuable feedback.

Upon completion, you will have the opportunity to join our team in either full-time or part-time roles, based in the Main Theatre.

About You
  • At least 2 years of experience post registration in an acute hospital setting
  • Enrolled nurse qualification with current APHRA registration
  • A genuine passion to transition into the theatre environment and a demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and development
  • Permanent work rights within Australia with no restrictions (sponsorship is not available for this program)
  • A Working with Children Check, National Police Check or be willing to obtain
  • The ability to commit to a rotating roster including AM, PM/nights, weekends and public holidays, with shifts ranging from 8 – 10 hours
