Job Summary

As a Craft Supervisor - Scaffolding at Bechtel Corporation, you will lead a team of skilled professionals on a major construction project. Your primary responsibility will be to direct and supervise the activities of craft professionals, ensuring that they have the necessary tools and resources to complete their tasks efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and direct craft activities as assigned, scheduling work to be performed and reviewing work accomplished by each craft.
  • Planning and Productivity: Determine workforce requirements, coordinate established area operational plans, and monitor tool and equipment usage on the site.
  • Safety and Quality: Ensure that all construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
  • Technical: Work with Construction Field Engineers, Leading Hands, and Craft Professionals to interpret Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation.
  • Prior experience on construction projects with knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
  • Strong analytical and judicious planning skills, able to prioritize and balance short-term and long-term priorities.
  • Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
  • Experience working with, supervising, and administering subcontractors and/or Direct Hire workforce.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health.
  • Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.
Working Conditions

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include:

  • Extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site.
  • Climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs).
  • Use of personal fall arrest equipment.
  • Walking and working on uneven surfaces.
  • Working in constricted and/or confined spaces.
  • Variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.).
  • Work in inclement weather.

This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
